Despite the existence of sophisticated and smart technology such as Artificial Intelligence, A-I which can make specific decisions and reduce the working process, human ability to lead the direction of an organisation or nation is still relevant, vital and much needed Minister at the Prime Minister's Office stressed that characteristics such as trustworthiness, fairness, empathy and tabligh or propagative are among the main values advocated by Islam and essential for every leader.

The values should be internalised and come from a pure heart. They cannot be acquired from any conventional leadership programme. Speaking at the Certificate Presentation Ceremony For the 28th Executive Development Programme For Senior Government Officers, EDPSGO a and 29th and 30th Executive Development Programme For Middle Management Officers, EDPMMO, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud said competency gained through the leadership programmes would not be complete without the foundations of pure values. Yang Berhormat emphasised that the fusion of pure values and competency of leadership should be taken seriously because delegating authority to the non-qualified and not conforming to the said unison is similar to betraying the instruction of Allah Subahanahu Wataala and neglecting the leadership legacy of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.

The Minister said to possess the pure values, the leaders should master the most basic of leadership which is being the best example to the people around us.  Yang Berhormat added being the leader of a team or organisation does not diminish the importance of being able to lead oneself first.  Hence leaders must carry out their duties with trust, fairness, empathy and tabligh so that others would follow.

24 participants of the 28th EDPSGO, and 25 participants of the 29th and 30th EDPMMO received certificates during the ceremony. Among other things, the programmes covered the study of current issues and policies and global best practices in Public Service management and administration.  The participants attended work placements, community projects, study tours and dialogue sessions with several of the country's well-known leaders.  The ceremony took place at the Banquet Hall of the Prime Minister's Office this afternoon.
